Today I had an interview with Co-Lin’s head baseball Clay Smith. The first question I asked was where was he originally from and at what age did he wanted to be a baseball coach and why. Coach then told me he was an alumni here at Co-Lin and at that time he knew he wanted to be a coach. Coach smith served 10 years as an assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator under head coach at Belhaven University before committing to the head coaching job her at Co-lin. Coach smith as the mindset to get better each and every day, which makes him as I should say a coach among coaches. He as the desire and passion to get better. The goal he set was for his team to make the playoffs and reach that ultimate goal to win a championship. Another great aspect about coach smith is his leadership to his players. He not only wants them to look up to him as a coach but as a motivator as well. Passionate, well respected and positive are words I would use to describe coach smith.
