WESSON- Last Wednesday night, the Co-Lin Wolves fell to the Mississippi Delta Trojans, 78-66.
The Wolves were coming off of another tough loss to Holmes last Monday by a score of 82-59.
The Wolves would make it hard on themselves as the Trojans built a 40-27 first half lead. Co-Lin’s Terry Morris would lead all scorers for the Wolves with 16 points and 7 assists. Haymer and Lumpkins would also score 12 points to help the cause. Co-Lin struggled with turnovers and free throw shooting all night. Co-Lin would finish the game with 18 turnovers and would only make 10 out of 22 free throw attempts. The Trojans, on the other hand, would hit 29 of their 39 free throw attempts. Co-Lin would, however, make a run during the final 5 minutes of the game, inching back within 6. The attempt would fail as time became a problem late, forcing the Wolves to foul to stop the clock. Delta would hit most of those free throws, ultimately icing the game. The Trojans’ Griffin, McNeese, and Dukes would lead the Trojans in scoring with a combined 48 points.
